Description
Zcash (ZEC) is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency launched in 2016. It offers users the option of "shielded" transactions, which allow for fully anonymous transactions by hiding the sender, receiver, and transaction amount. Zcash uses a cryptographic technique called zk-SNARKs (zero-knowledge succinct non-interactive arguments of knowledge) to enable this level of privacy. ZEC can also be used like Bitcoin for transparent transactions, giving users flexibility based on their privacy needs.
